Our Mari Cup is an ode to pioneering Turkish female sculptor, Mari Germezyan. An inspirational woman, she too was the great love of painter and poet Bedri Rahmi Eyüpoğlu, who wrote, “My black mulberry, my cutlery, my gypsy. You will be more humid my dear, my smiling quince, my crying pomegranate. My woman, my mare, my wife...” Colorful, at times plump and short, our Mari Cup is handcrafted from Limoges porcelain, and available in five colors, hand-gilded in either 24-karat gold or silver.
Product Information
All of our products are handcrafted using fine Limoges porcelain clay, with both inner and outer surfaces glazed and fired at high temperatures, making them safe for food and drink. For pieces decorated with 24-carat gold glaze, it is possible to wash them in the dishwasher occasionally; however, it is recommended to hand-wash them with a non-abrasive soft sponge in order to preserve the beauty and luster of the decoration. The pieces are not microwave-safe due to the presence of precious materials.Please note that all of our featured pieces are handmade by our artisans, so each design and illustration is unique and therefore may vary.
